Position Summary
The Events and Communications Associate plays a key role in advancing the Foundation’s mission by coordinating community events, cultivating partnerships, and supporting donor and campaign communications. This role ensures the successful delivery of engaging experiences and creative storytelling that inspire giving and strengthen community connection. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, demonstrates initiative, and brings creativity to both event execution and communications outreach.

Job & Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Partnerships
- Plan, organize, and execute Foundation events such as the Lifesavers Dinner & Auction, Tree of Life Appeal, and golf tournaments
- Serve as a key liaison for community-led and third-party fundraising events, providing guidance, materials, and stewardship
- Manage event logistics including timelines, budgets, venue/vendor coordination, sponsorship fulfillment, volunteer engagement, and permits
- Support the creation of sponsorship proposals and donor recognition materials
- Evaluate event performance, prepare post-event reports, and recommend improvements for future initiatives
Communications & Marketing
- Contribute to the creation of written and visual content for social media, newsletters, donor communications, and event materials
- Support campaign branding and storytelling efforts to highlight donor impact and inspire community engagement
- Assist with website updates, social media scheduling, and digital campaign coordination
- Collaborate with external communications consultants, vendors, and partners to ensure brand consistency and timely execution of materials
- Coordinate photography, videography, and media relations logistics
50/50 Lottery & Revenue Initiatives
- Support promotion and execution of the Foundation’s 50/50 online lottery, ensuring consistent digital and community presence
- Track engagement metrics and assist in producing summary reports
- Liaise with third-party lottery partners and manage winner communications as required
Skills & Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in communications, marketing, fundraising, or event management (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- 2–4 years’ experience in event planning, communications, or fundraising, preferably in a nonprofit setting
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable representing the Foundation publicly
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Canva (or Adobe Creative Suite), and digital platforms such as Mailchimp, WordPress, and social media tools
- Experience with donor management software (e.g., Raiser’s Edge) considered an asset
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends for events
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
