ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Chief of Mental Health and Addictions, the Addiction Medicine Physician is accountable to provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment for inpatients and outpatients of St. Joseph’s Care Group.

WHAT YOU BRING
Education/Experience:
- Licensed to practice medicine with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and/or Registration with the College of Family Physicians of Canada with a Certificate of Added Competence in Addiction Medicine
- Demonstrated experience working within interprofessional practice model
- Knowledge of applicable acts, regulations, legislation, programs and policies
Skills/Abilities:
- Superior ability to communicate effectively and concisely and to provide / explain relevant information in response to inquiries or issues at a level appropriate to the audience
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships or partnerships with a diverse range of individuals
- Ability to work independently and/or as a contributing member of an interprofessional team to consistently meet program goals and address client needs
- Ability to develop partnerships and facilitate discussion relating to assessment, treatment, intervention strategies
- Strong leadership skills including the ability to provide consultation and direction to medical students and residents, physician assistant students, and clinical staff; proven ability to share skills and knowledge with others
- Proven conflict management abilities and mediation skills
- Demonstrated regular attendance at work
Conditions of Employment:
- This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
- As travel between work locations is necessary, access to timely and convenient transportation, whether private or public, is essential
